Not receiving SMS reminders on iPhone?

Recent versions of iOS include spam and message filtering features that may prevent you from seeing SMS reminders from Noona. Your messages are still being delivered to your phone, but iPhone may be hiding them in a separate folder without notifying you.

🕵️‍♂️ Find messages hidden in the Spam folder

iPhone's Filter Spam feature is enabled by default and may incorrectly move legitimate booking reminders to a hidden Spam folder.

To check for hidden messages:

  1. Open the Messages app.

  2. Tap the filter icon (three lines) in the top-right corner of your conversation list.

  3. Tap Spam to view messages that have been filtered.

If you find messages from Noona in the Spam folder:

  1. Tap the message to open it.

  2. Tap Not Spam at the bottom of the conversation.

This moves the conversation back to your main Messages list, and future messages from Noona will no longer be filtered as spam.

🔎 Find messages in the Unknown Senders folder

If you have Screen Unknown Senders turned on, messages from senders not in your contacts are moved to a separate folder without triggering notifications.

To check for messages from Noona:

  1. Open the Messages app.

  2. Tap the filter icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Unknown Senders.

  4. Look for messages from Noona.

  5. Tap the conversation, then tap Mark as Known at the bottom.

Once you mark Noona as a known sender, future messages will appear in your main inbox and trigger notifications normally.

🛠️ Adjust your filtering settings

You can manage both filtering features in your iPhone settings:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Apps, then tap Messages.

  3. Scroll down to the Unknown Senders section.

Here you will find two toggles:

  • Screen Unknown Senders — When enabled, messages from senders not in your contacts are moved to a separate folder. You can turn this off if you prefer to see all messages in your main inbox.

  • Filter Spam — Enabled by default. This automatically moves messages that iPhone considers spam to the Spam folder. If Noona messages are being incorrectly filtered, you can turn this off.

If you want to keep spam filtering on but still receive notifications for certain types of messages, tap Allow Notifications under the Unknown Senders section. From there, you can enable notifications for Time Sensitive messages (such as appointment reminders and verification codes) and Transactions (such as booking confirmations).

👉 Recommended steps

For the best experience receiving Noona reminders, we recommend:

  1. Check your Spam folder for any Noona messages and tap Not Spam to restore them.

  2. If you have Unknown Senders filtering enabled, find the Noona conversation in Unknown Senders and tap Mark as Known.

  3. If issues persist, consider turning off Filter Spam in your Messages settings temporarily to confirm that Noona messages are coming through, then turn it back on — iPhone should remember that Noona is not spam.
