You can use the staff commission to motivate your team to increase sales and booking performance. In this article, you will learn how to activate and configure the staff commissions to fulfill your needs. As well as see how you can calculate them by the end of every month.

How to set up the Staff commissions

  1. Find your staff in Noona HQ: Home → Staff.

  2. Click the staff member for whom you wish to activate commissions.
    Refer to the picture below:

  3. Then, you can activate the commission's feature.

    Refer to the video below:

Note: Different commission percentages can be set for services, products, vouchers, and bookings. HQ offers the tools for owners to manage the amounts due for commission payouts. The feature can be adjusted differently for individual staff members. Only staff members with the corresponding permissions can manage the commission configurations. This can be turned on for staff members in SettingBusinessRolesUsers.

List of possible commissions that can be configured

  • Service: the actual service provided, e.g., a massage.

  • Products: products the client might purchase while enjoying the service, e.g., a cocktail enjoyed during their spa visit.

  • Vouchers: gift or series vouchers that are purchased during the checkout process.

  • Bookings: bookings made by a staff member.

    • Note: If a booking is made at the spa reception, such as for a massage, commissions are calculated for both the booking and the service itself if commissions are configured for both the booking and the service for the staff member.

    • Example: A massage costs 100 EUR and is booked by Helga (staff member) while she is signed into Noona HQ, then performed by staff member Oscar. Helga gets the “Booking” commission, but Oscar receives the “Service” commission. If Oscar logs into Noona HQ and makes the booking using his account, and has activated commission for “Bookings,” he would get the commission for the booking, not Helga.

Expanding on bookings and additional services and how that might affect the commissions:

→ If a service is added to the booking, a booking commission is calculated for the staff member who made the original booking. A service commission is then calculated separately for the staff member who performs the service, whether it's the same staff member or a different one. These calculations only happen when a checkout from the appointment is completed.

Refer to the video below:

→ If a service or product is added to the bill at the checkout, a commission is only available for the service or product, not the booking.

Refer to the video below:

Commission report

Whenever needed (e.g., at the end of the month), you can easily access a report that lists the commission earned by every staff member during the month. You can find the report by navigating to SalesReportsCommissions.

Refer to the video below:

Note: In this example, all the bookings are made by staff member with owners privileges, which is Helga, therefore Oscar gets no booking commission for them.

Different booking commission scenarios

→ Let's take a closer look at how the booking commission works.

In the video below, you can see an appointment booked for Oscar on Helga’s account and how that affects the commission, only increasing the service commission and not the booking commission.

In the video below, you can see a booking made for Oscar on Oscar's account and how that affects both the service commission and the booking commission, as the booking was made in his user account.
